BGD e-Gov CIRT (Computer Incident Response Team), which was established in 2016, runs security services processes, such as incident response and vulnerability analysis, however CIRT does not cover all required security services and does not have tools to provide very complex investigations into incident. Hence, a solution which would enable the team to have better visibility of cyber threats was required.
BGD e-Gov CIRT Laboratory has been set up as a tool for very complex incident investigations and supports Bangladesh Computer Council mission to provide secure National Datacentre Services as well as participate in education process for cyber security specialists. It enables perform situational analysis, measure the level of vulnerability to cyber-attacks and, due to the portable technology, perform remote investigations in other organisations.
