Dr Vilius Benetis, CEO of NRD CS, CISA, CRISC held a workshop on Cybersecurity Fundamentals and a presentation on Cybersecurity Skills at ISACA's EuroCACS conference taking place 30 May-1 June 2016 in Dublin, Ireland.
In his presentation, titled "Cybersecurity Skills Audit", Dr Benetis discussed the application of US and EU cybersecurity skills, job profiles and e-competences models to internal and external audits, recommended remediation actions for cybersecurity workforce problems, and shared his insights on connecting cybersecurity tasks with skills.
In addition, he held a pre-conference workshop to help attendees prepare for the CSX Cybersecurity Fundamentals Certificate exam. The workshop covered four key areas of cybersecurity: cybersecurity architecture principles, security of networks, systems, applications and data, incident response and security implications of the adoption of emerging technologies.
"Cyber security is rapidly evolving and spreading to impact every sector of global commerce and technology. As a result, it is more and more crucial that professionals involved in almost all areas of information systems understand the central concepts that frame and define this increasingly pervasive field. The Cybersecurity Fundamentals Workshop is ideal for information systems professionals wishing to advance their knowledge in or transfer to cyber security, and for recent college/university graduates looking to start a career in this in-demand, fiercely competitive field," said Dr Benetis.
