The national awareness raising round table in Montenegro is the first of three annual roundtables organised by the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF) within the project Enhancing Cybersecurity Governance in the Western Balkans*. The roundtable will be implemented on the request and in partnership with the National Information Security Council and other relevant national institutions. The main aims of the activity are:
- To increase the awareness of national decision-makers and relevant stakeholders on the growing threat of state-sponsored attacks in cyberspace;
- To facilitate a national expert discussion on modalities of mitigating and responding to incidents in national cyberspace and identifying state-sponsored cyberattacks;
- To explore models for establishing national resilience and comprehensive cyber defences.
Representatives and cyber security experts of relevant state institutions and agencies and members of parliament; relevant private sector, academic and civil society representatives from Montenegro; international cyber security experts.
NRD Cyber Security CEO Vilius Benetis will be both a speaker, sharing our knowledge and experience on large-scale cyber attacks, and a moderator,of the working groups, giving advice and input as necessary.
